The lesser person believes that it is a sign of power to have the last word in an argument between equals.

The wise person knows the opposite to be true.

To test this theory, the next time you are having an argument with your significant other, suddenly abandon the conversation after they have they have made what they may believe is a particularly strong point.  Even better if through texting.   That said, games of power are for the beginning of a romantic relationship, when one is ending, or trying to win a lover back; risky and a sign of deep trouble if occurring otherwise.
